Late last week this gorgeous Maple number was installed in a private residence in Philadelphia. Stretching wall to wall in the guest room, the full size vertical Murphy bed with side cabinets features pullout surfaces and custom handmade pulls as well as an integral ventilation grate. The finish here is satin waterborne lacquer. The foot design has evolved a bit from the previous version of our Murphy bed. On site, the trim was coped to fit seamlessly into the existing baseboard in the room.

Yesterday, these two custom bedroom built-ins were installed- and they made a welcome upgrade to a boy’s bedroom on the Upper West Side. The desk was built to match his sister’s, with a file drawer, pencil drawer, dimmable LED strip lighting, bookshelves and more.
The closet has a new central unit featuring an integral step up that doubles as a nook for organizing shoes. There are four sections for hanging clothes, twelve open adjustable cubbies, and four dovetailed drawers on soft close self closing undermount slides. All painted white with waterborne lacquer.
This morning we received a note from the client reading: “J. loves his desk and closet. Thanks!”
Our furniture gallery in upstate PA allows our potential clients the oppertunity to see and touch the real deal before deciding to make a purchase. Feel the smooth motion of soft-closing self-close slides, see the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship.

The pulls are crafted of matching wood. Interiors and headboards are painted Benjamin Moore’s Wickham Gray.

The first piece of furniture to move into our new showroom in the old one room schoolhouse is this lovely Campaign Dresser.
The piece is constructed of Solid Pennsylvania Maple and sports seven roomy drawers on soft & self closing concealed drawer slides.
Finished in a neutral warm grey waterborne lacquer, waxed, and all decked out in polished nickel Campaign hardware with recessed pulls, this beauty would add style and substance to your room. Campaign dressers also make classy and sturdy changing tables for a nursery.
This elegant dresser is equally at home in the nursery for a boy or a girl- or a master suite. The removable tray top can contain a changing pad…or use your imagination- customization available. The piece is built from solid Pennsylvania Maple lumber and constructed with dovetail joinery. Seven roomy drawers provide storage while the solid brass campaign hardware dresses up the front. Available in any color or stain, nickel hardware is another option. White glove delivery available to the continental USA.
When space is at a premium, it helps to have built-ins that do double duty, like this white murphy bed with storage cabinets, a pull-out nightstand counter, drawers, and a fold-down desk with whiteboards. This piece was installed in Chelsea, New York City, and the modern white satin lacquer looked great against the blue wall. Arch pulls from Lee Valley Hardware. Only a custom cabinetmaker can produce a piece that fits a unique apartment wall like a glove.
Next up in the shop we have this White Murphy Bed going to Chelsea, NYC. This custom wallbed features two built-in whiteboards- one that flips down to become a simple desk surface. The cabinet contains four doors with shelves behind them, and three drawers topped by a pull-out counter. Progress photos to follow.
In the shop, there are several pieces in a state of near completion. Above are images of the Walnut Veneered Demilune which will grace the entryway of a Manhattan home. The doors will be hung on invisible Soss hinges and the legs will be tapered. Below are a couple of updated shots of the Bedroom built-in. This piece is to be for a child’s bedroom that would also potentially double as a guest bedroom. The counter has enough space and clearance for a changing pad, and the cubbies above can hold any number of items up and out of the way. Neither piece will have visible hardware on the doors or drawers.
Inspired by the stands that hold and display precious antiques, the Artifact Bed, shown here in King size, built with rare spalted wormy Pennsylvania Sugar Maple, is a knockout. The headboard has a comfortable lean to it and the lumber is on display, featured in this simple modern design. The worms are dead and gone, of course, since the lumber has been kiln dried and aged and sanded and finished with a waterborne lacquer, but their paths snake through the wood, leaving captivating traces of their existence in what was once a tree.
